Backcountry Squatters is a group of like-minded women who help organize outdoor events, social events, and friendships on a personal level in the Bozeman women's outdoor community. Events we put on include larger scale activities, such as ice climbing clinics, mountain biking trainings, camping trips, and our Backcountry Prom every winter. Other small events included weekly day hikes, ski days, knitting nights, and any other small scale social events girls want to do to have fun and meet other women.
Club dues cover most events, and anything that costs money will be discounted as well. The club dues also allow member access to College Outside, a platform for selling cheap recreational gear to college students. The club extends beyond its events as well, by utilizing its facebook platform, club members are able to communicate between each other to form friendships by hanging out outside together as well as selling and buying gear. Finally, to promote funds for the club events, a calendar is created every year showcasing athletic women, naked outside, performing the outdoor sports they love and promoting the image that athletic women have varied body types.
